Kinepolis has around 23 million viewers a year across their 44 cinema complexes.
They are credited with building the first ‘megaplex’, Kinepolis Brussels, and currently own the second largest cinema in the world (Kinepolis Antwerpen).
Kinepolis wanted a creative campaign for their popular unique gift box offer. The launch of an online web shop (produced by our in house digital expert friends from Intracto) meant the box could now be delivered straight to people’s front door, instead of having to buy it in store like before. This meant a huge increase in availability so naturally they needed a much larger campaign that could reach a wider audience.
We love a good challenge so couldn’t wait to get started! For the visual and communication, we looked for a much more modern and generic concept that steered away from the classic Christmas bells & balls.
What we came up with was a simple but effective visual that could be used on a number of marketing platforms. Although this was an entirely new campaign, we decided to use similar colours to the Kinepolis logo, so it had a modern but recognisable look and feel.
The slogan read: “Iedereen smelt voor een filmdoosje”, which means, “Everyone melts for a movie box”. It portrays an image of a universal, wholesome and warm product, perfect for the end of year rush.
The campaign and web shop were both a huge success. We managed to produce a modern, universal and wholesome campaign that ran on TV, radio and of course online as well as being advertised through Kinepolis’ own channels and through PR.
